I really love vintage eclectic style, and seeing as I’m on a students budget I’m thinking about vintage. I don’t like buying clothes online as I prefer to try them on, and I live in Kent so a train to London is only around £6 and 40 minutes journey. The thing is I’m a size 16. I’m thinking most vintage shops don’t do that much stuff in that size?
Also what are typical prices for things like dresses? I mean is it going to be £40 for a nice dress, or cheaper?
Any advice on styles and things to put together? I’m sick of buying all my clothes from New Look and Dorothy Perkins and being safe and ending up wearing the same thing as everyone else. I’ve decided I want to get some really stylish stuff.
Thanks!

Dorothy and Edna, two "senior" widows, are talking.
Dorothy: "That nice George Johnson asked me out for a date. I know you went out with him last week, and I wanted to talk with you about him before I give him my answer."
Edna: "Well, I’ll tell you. He shows up at my flat punctually at 7 P.M., dressed like such a gentleman in a fine suit, and he brings me such beautiful flowers! Then he takes me downstairs, and what’s there but a luxury car… a limousine, uniformed chauffeur and all. Then he takes me out for dinner… a marvelous dinner… lobster, champagne, pudding, and after-dinner drinks. Then we go to see a show. Let me tell you,
Dorothy, I enjoyed it so much I could have just died from pleasure! So then we are coming back to my flat and he turns into an ANIMAL. Completely crazy, he tears off my expensive new dress and has his way with me twice!"
Dorothy: "Goodness gracious!… so you are telling me I shouldn’t go out with him?"
Edna: "No, no, no… I’m just saying, wear an old dress."

I’m dressing up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for Halloween and need ‘the’ Ruby Slippers. Does anyone know where I can get some? I’m not too sure that I have much everyday use for them so don’t want to spend too much!

I’m a petite size 4 and need a dress for a party but so far I’ve only found a few shops that stock this size; ASOS, Dorothy Perkins and Topshop.
Any more?

Hi my mum is having a hard time in finding something to wear to my wedding. She is 49 years old she doesnt mind me telling her age and she is very petite and a size 10, the thing is she wants a knee length dress thats in a pastel colouor like lilac or dusky rose, or anything that isnt a dark colour as its for a wedding. The thing is we have looked in everyshop you can think of, Next, ,dorothy perkins, monsoon, top shop, new look, marks and spensers, and all they have is dress either black or navy or with hippy patterns on which my mum said she doesnt like. When we look at the sites for mother of the bride they all start from a size 12 and are far to long. So it there is anyone who knows where she can just get a plain pastel coloured dress, it can have a bit of detail on it but not alot. Thanks
We have also looked in debenhams and at the jaques vert stlyes but she thinks they look a little too old.
Im sorry to be a pain but we live in the UK so we need shops in the uk

Hi
I’ve got my first interview tomorrow for dorothy perkins as a Christmas temp and I was looking for some advice from anyone who has had an interview there. What questions will they ask, what does the interview involve ? I was also wondering what should I wear ? I was thinking of wearing a vintage style dress from dorothy perkins with black tights black tie shoe heels and a necklace but I’m worried the dress might be too short for an interview but it looks nice and I will be wearing tights would it look okay to wear it?
Please help
x
