I need a fancy dress idea from a film or from tv I have thought of alice in wonderland, dorothy, the snow queen any others
Me and my 2 friends are dressing up for Halloween. Originally we were all going to go matching but we have changed our minds so NO ideas about group costumes… I have about a million, but we won’t be using them. One of my friends is going as Tinkerbell and the other as a Smurf. I had a lot of ideas for myself but narrowed it down to Dorothy Gale (Wizard of Oz) or Peter Pan. For Dorothy I thought I could wear either a blue gingham dress and white apron or (probably the easier and cheaper choice) a white dress and blue gingham apron, plait my hair and tie with ribbons, wear white stockings and red shoes, carry a basket with a dog in it etc. For Peter I would wear green stockings and try and make or buy a green pointy hat and then get a green shirt/pillow case/dress and chop the bottom in points to make the tunic.
So my questions are:
a) any more good suggestions for a 16 year old girl, and
b) cheap ways to get Peter, Dorothy or your idea of a costume together. I DON’T have much money- or time- and I live in NEW ZEALAND so all the online US stores won’t be appropiate for me.

My work christmas party is in just under a month. It’s always fancy dress and this years theme is bling (sigh). I really don’t want to go all hip hop or whatever, I want to be dressed quite cute, but I dunno how to adapt that to the theme….I’m sort of feeling dorothy from the wizard of oz with red glitter shoes, but I don’t think that constitutes bling….any ideas will be most welcome! xx
So this year in town there is a huge costume contest with fantastic prizes. There can be teams of two riders and two horses…or single rider and horse. I thought the team idea sounded fantastic and so did my friend Lily. So we are doing the Wizard of OZ theme. I already have a Dorothy costume from a previous costume party so we have one down. My friend is dressing up as the tinman and is dressing up her horse as the cowardly lion, so that leaves me with dressing up Bronco as the scarecrow.
I have found material to make a fairly good scarecrow costume, however, I have a question pertaining to the straw I will be using. My friend has plenty barley straw, but my horse is sensitive and I think it’s too rough and will irritate his skin. I wanted to use Oat straw…it’s softer, but just more pricey. But we use that for part of his bedding anyway.
Is there another straw that would be nicer to use or is Oat the best one? I’ve heard of Rye and Wheat straw, but I am not too familiar with them. If you can think of any other material to use, I would appreciate it as well.

I went to Canobie Lake Park the other day in Salem, NH and I saw three people dressed in costume: one was "Molly the Mouse", one was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and the third is where the problem comes in.
He looked like Voldemort, but I’m sure that’s not who it was. He had a fancy type of robe on, and he was walking around with Dorothy… He had pointy ears, slits for eyes, and a very small almost-as-flat-as-Voldemort’s nose…
Can someone help me identify him? :]

For my 21st, i have decided that I will be having a fancy dress party. The theme is open, but I have no idea what to go as. I just bought a lace white dress from dorothy perkins, I want a nice beige cardigan to wear over which I think I’ve found but if anyone thinks of anything else I’d really like to know as it’s got no sleeves. However at the moment I can’t think of any shoes to wear with it, brown brogues are good without tights at in school they prefer us to wear tights (black) I can’t think of any shoes that would go with them… help please x

And how would you feel about seeing a guy wearing it? (Or you if you’re a guy?) Would it be funny or bad? If they did it for charity, would you pay money? My boss thinks I should get this (and get the lockable option) It’s designed for men to wear. (If you’re in doubt, read the bit underneath saying, "Imagine yourself being forced-feminized in this pretty gingham outfit." ) Thoughts and suggestions please, or better ideas (or accessory / shoe / make-up ideas please)

I’ve never seen wizard of oz but anyway i’m going to a movie theme party and we had to pick the themes from a hat, so the host is designing them to be funny. Unfortunately, I got dorothy from wizard of oz, and i’m a guy! I tried to reason with the host and go as the tin man or something but she said those parts had been handed out too, so I guess we’ll all see who’s ending up with which roles at the party. Do you think there’s a way I could make the costume more manly, or will I look like i’m a spoil sport and not being fun? I’m not quite sure what to wear really, or whether to just go for it with a wig too, yikes… Should I wear a checkerd shirt and jeans? Or do you think I really ought to go all out and wear some thing that really looks like dorothy? I don’t want to offend anyone by either looking obscene or looking like I hadn’t tried, but it’s hard to know what to do…

"Good morning Jessica." my alarm clock repeated as I woke up. I pressed the music button and the radio came on. I danced around my room as I got ready for school. Getting dressed I heard a loud bang downstairs. I rushed down to see what it was. There was a wash basket on the kitchen floor, but it couldn’t of been that. Could it? I picked it up and my dog, Ant, ran out. I laughed, but tried to work out what knocked it off. I then saw my other dog Dec, on the other side of the island. He must of jumped up and knocked it off. I went back upstairs to get ready. After throwing things around my room to find what I need, I was ready, with half an hour to spare. I went down to make toast and came back up and logged onto Facebook. Lot’s of people had posted on my wall. Good Luck Jess, they all read. Why they all read that? Well today after school i’m going for an audition. An audition for what? For a musical. I love to sing, dance and act so i’m auditioning for the part of Dorothy. Yes it’s The Wizard of Oz.

Grammatical errors ? Well i admit i’ve never been good at writing. I never know what words to use so i use books to see how they word things. I suppose it’s fine though, it’s a teen type of story and since i’m a teen, i’m writing this how i would like it to sound, without any slang, or atleast too much.
Can you recommend some good, essential clothes for winter. I am quite girly so I want to include dresses. I don’t need a coat, but I wouldn’t mind a nice gillet with a fur lined hood.
