Buy a small jar of red transparent glass paint from any art shop. This is meant for painting on glass, mirrors etc and is not expensive.
Because it is transparent the original glitter will shine through the red finish. It is also quite shiny so her shoes will look like they are covered in rubies.
Hope this helps.
put red sprinkles over some glue
Paint them with red glitter paint. Check out a craft store.
sparkly red spray paint? or super glue new red sequins on – but you would have to really really want her to look good to go to those lengths!!
You can buy different colour dyes for shoes, buy a red and apply it’s really easy, then sprinkle some glitter on before they dry, have fun.
paint and glitter
justbuy hrer some red shoes and put gliter on them
Click the heels together – then WISH!
red glitter and glue
You could try spray paint… and when nearly dry add some glitter!!
Go yo Michael’s hobby store and buy, red glitter paint and spray it on the shoes. Other wise , you could go to a halloweeen store and just buy new shoes- they should be cheap this time of year.
Stuff the inside to stop glue getting in there. Dip the shoes in glue. Sprinkle red sequins over the top — plenty. Leave overnight and shake of the excess, et voilĂ , there’s no place like home!
you can buy spray glue then add on red glitter best of luck although you can buy red glittery pumps cheap at the moment from shops like faith
dye them in the washing machine. I’ve heard of them doing things like that on changing rooms.
Make sure you put them in a pillow case first so that they don’t get scuffed
Try spray plastic-cote paint and when wet stick red sequins on them.
It depends how good you want her to look and how much time you have. Some craft shops sell glittery spray paint and you could find some red then use that. If you have a lot of time you could buy red sequins and sew those on by hand but it would take a lot of effort to cover the whole of both shoes. I wouldn’t advise that you use glitter with glue because the glue might dry white and show through the glitter which wouldn’t loom good at all.
An acrylic paint will work on plastic, you want a really bright red. Mix red glitter in, then add glitter while its still wet. You can get all kinds of paint at hobby shops.
I don’t think you can actually dye glitter, so you will pretty much be starting from scratch. I would paint the shoes red first (metallic if you can find it) to eliminate the pink. Then, using a strong glue, paint glue on the shoes in sections and completely coat each section with red glitter while the glue is still wet. Repeat until the entire shoe is done and go back and fill in where necessary.
I would highly recommend laying down a disposable painters tarp or lots of newspapers before applying the glitter. You want to coat the shoes, so be very liberal with your application. Definitely buy the crafters glitter you can find in the large shaker containers rather than the small tubes. You are going to need a lot of glitter and this will be much more cost effective and the pieces of glitter will be larger and look more ruby like.
I would also recommend sealing the shoes with a light coating of glossy spray-on polyurethane (found at the hardware store) to seal the shoes so that she isn’t dropping glitter everywhere she walks.
Paint them with pva glue, then sprinkle with red glitter but don’t shake off the excess glitter til they’re dry……hey presto, dorothy shoes! Hope that helped!
dont know but in the book her slippers wre actually silver only the film changed them to ruby
